This is an interesting observation, and I’ve found it hard to get over. Some of my best friends are humans. But I can’t read them. I can’t be like them. I can’t be like them. We are, as a society, so afraid of the unknown that we have to resort to subterfuge and deception to hide the truth about ourselves.
It seems like you have to use a lot of subterfuge to be invisible. It’s not just hiding the truth from yourself. It’s also hiding your true emotions. All the time we are told to be positive, optimistic, happy, strong and strong-willed, we are told that negative emotions, like fear, anger, and sadness, are what makes us human. However, deep down we know they are not what makes us human.
